The Resume: The 40-year old Brooks appears timeless. He's been in the big leagues since season 1. In those 13+ seasons, he's won the Fireman of the Year award 4 times. He's made 10 All-star teams, and even won the Cy Young in Season 7 for the Chicago Gangsters, going 3-6 with 43 saves in 52 opportunities. He would throw in a career-high 79 games and 91.1 innings. Despite the workload, he finished with a 2.17 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP.

Brooks' 442 saves are the most in the history of Second City. His 734 appearances are also in the top 10.

The Rest of the Story: Brooks hails from East Orange, NJ. Twenty-two years ago, as an 18-year old, Brooks had the world on his plate. He was a 3-sport star, and pretty much had his pick of sports and fabulous careers. That's when his next-door neighbor, Dionne Warwick, predicted he'd be a professional sports star. And, she was right. At the time Warwick was a successful singer, and Brooks looked like a great athlete. But Warwick would go on to found the Psychic network, in part based on her brilliant prediction. Two decades and millions later, nobody remembered that she predicted Brooks would be a star quarterback, not the most the successful closer in Second City History.
