Top 5 2B Prospects

Top 5 2B Prospects

Here is the first of the prospect lists for season 9. With San Francisco’s Kevin Canseco moving up to the big league club, and adjusting to a new position (CF), we have a new #1. Hailing from Hastings, Nebraska, Ira Helling of the Toledo Boonse Farmers moves to the top of the list after being drafted out of high school in season 8. Spitting time between Low A and High A, Helling hit .347 with 23 HR. Helling projects as a top defense 2B with excellence speed. His one weakness is his low contact rating, but all his other batting ratings are projected at 70+.
